Report: Masked Gunman Shoots Bartow Man in Leg

The following information was taken from an incident report provided by the Bartow County Sheriff's Office.

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a masked gunman who entered a home and shot a man in the leg.

According to an incident report from the agency, deputies around 9:45 a.m. Nov. 22 were dispatched to a home on Kings Camp Road in unincorporated Acworth. A woman told dispatchers “someone cane inside this residence” and shot the victim in the leg.

The responding deputy observed the victim lying on the front porch with a blanket wrapped around his leg and “a large amount of blood around him. The man told the deputy an unknown suspect, who was sporting a mask, allegedly came into his bedroom and shot him in the leg.

According to the report, the woman who called police said she moved into the residence roughly a week ago with her three-month-old infant. The man who was shot came to the residence on Friday asking to stay for the night, according to the report.

“This morning, as she was getting ready to get a shower, she heard the dogs barking and a loud bang,” the report states. “When she came out of the bathroom, she saw (the victim) was bleeding and was saying he had been shot.”

The woman was unable to provide any additional information to the deputy at the scene, and the case was turned over the Bartow sheriff’s investigators.
