ICYMI: Restaurant Inspections: 63, Or U, For Meat Market

The Bartow County Environmental Health Department conducted food service inspections Jan. 23-30 at the following establishments:

Angelo's New York Style Pizza & Bistro (Food Service Inspections)*

View inspections: January 24, 2018 Score: 83, Grade: B

• Observed no documentation that all food employees and conditional employees were informed of their responsibility to report to management information about their health and activities as it relates to diseases that are transmissible through food. CA: PIC was provided employee health policy forms in a previous inspection. Informed PIC that the policy should be discussed with food employees and it should be documented as well.
• Observed no established procedures for employees to follow when responding to vomiting or diarrheal events that involve the discharge of vomitus or fecal matter onto surfaces in the food establishment. CA: PIC was provided information on how to establish procedures in a previous inspection, informed PIC that a bodily clean-up kit and procedures must be established.
• Observed raw animal food (chicken parmesan) stored over ready-to-eat food. Observed a plate of raw hamburger patties stored above ready-to-eat foods in the reach-in cooler in main kitchen. CA: Informed PIC, chicken parmesan and raw burger patties were moved to the proper location.
• Observed no sanitizing solution applied at the end of the wash cycle in the mechanical ware-washing machine. CA: Informed PIC that test strips should be used accordingly and to utilize the 3-compartment sink until the dish machine is fixed.

• Wall with hole were covered with black plastic trash bags and tape. CA: Will have issued corrected by May 1.

• No certified food manager for establishment. CA: Will give the individual 60 days to obtain certification.
• No soap or paper towels located at handwashing sink located at two of the hand sinks. Soap and paper towels were then put at the hand sinks.
• Observed improper horizontal separation of raw animal foods and ready-to-eat foods. CA: Food was reorganized.
• Observed potentially hazardous food (cooked beef) cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. CA: Food was discarded.
• Ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous food (chicken, beans, pork) prepared on site and held more than 24 hours with not properly date marked. CA: Food was discarded.
• Observed toxic item (Ajax) improperly stored. CA: Item was removed and placed in a proper location.
• Observed food container not properly labeled. CA: Discussed with PIC about issue Food was discarded, and proper labeling was discussed.
• A follow-up inspection will be held Feb. 8.
