The Bartow County Environmental Health Department conducted food service inspections Nov. 9-16 at the following establishments:

View inspections: November 14, 2016 Score: 80, Grade: B

• Observed employee drinking from an open beverage container in a food preparation or other restricted area.
• Establishment using a sanitizer solution that does not meet the requirements specified in 21 CFR 178.1010.
• As on previous inspection: Observed cooked foods in the reach in cooler that were not properly date marked. Cooked foods must be marked with a seven day discard date with "Day 1" being the day the food was cooked. Foods were labeled during the inspection.
• Working containers of food removed from original container not identified by common name.
• Observed interior of freezer with excess ice build up. Discussed with CFSM the importance of maintaining equipment and suggested defrosting.
• As on previous inspection: Observed accumulation of debris on in-between equipment. CA: Discussed with PIC about cleaning frequencies.
• No waste receptacle provided at handwash lavatory with disposable towels.
• Discussed with person which violations were a priority fix to be worked on immediately. Due to the inspection history, an informal inspection will be made to check on the status of fixing violations.
• Date marking and common name labeling for all items removed from an original container or prepared and held longer than 24 hours is essential. Using bleach sanitizer correctly will ensure clean surfaces. Explained the importance of keeping personal drinks in a closed container in a designated area will help ensure cross-contamination does not happen.
