Restaurant Inspections: "Excessive" Live Flies In Kitchen

The Bartow County Environmental Health Department conducted food service scores Aug. 10-17 at the following establishments:

BOJANGLES/CENTRAL PARK (Food Service Inspections)*

View inspections: August 16, 2016 Score: 81, Grade: B

• Observed employee drinking from an open beverage container in a food preparation or other restricted area. CA: PIC was notified of issue and drink was discarded.
• Observed potentially hazardous food, chicken patties and strips, held using time as a public health control with no time marking. Food may not be served. CA: This issue was brought to the attention of the PIC and food was discarded.
• Observed equipment and utensils not properly air-dried. CA: PIC was notified and who then advised employees to turn dishes sideways to allow pans to air dry before stacking them.
• Observed employee cell phones, lip balm, and car keys sitting right above ice bin. CA: Discussed with PIC the need to have designated areas for personal items away from prep area.
• Observed an excessive amount of live flies in kitchen. CA: This was brought to the attention of the PIC and she noted that an exterminator would be out to control pest.
