Rollover Crash Kills 1, Injures Another in Bartow County

BARTOW COUNTY, GA -- A single-vehicle accident killed one person and wounded another Friday morning on Interstate 75 in Bartow County.

Bartow County EMS crews were dispatched around 10:30 a.m. Jan. 13 to the rollover crash on the northbound side near mile marker 286, which is north of the Red Top Mountain Road interchange.

Crews arrived to find one patient "alert and oriented" with a possible arm fracture as well as other traumatic injuries, said spokesperson Brad Cothran.

Unfortunately, another person inside the vehicle, a male, was "fatally injured" and crews called the coroner to the scene, Cothran said.

Emerson Police Chief Kyle Teems said the injured motorist was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. He noted the accident remains under investigation and charges are pending the outcome.

The deceased's identity will be released one his next of kin has been notified, Teems added. Return to Patch for updates.
