Ronald Cox, 79, Cartersville High Graduate Served in the U.S. Army

Cox was also a member of the Euharlee City Council and a member Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Ronald Edward Cox, 79, of Linda Road in Euharlee, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, in Marietta.

Cox was born on March 3, 1935, and is the son of the late Lewis and Lucille Lipscomb Cox.

Ron graduated form Cartersville High School in 1953, attended the University of Georgia and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was in sales and management during his working years. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, was a master mason, a member of the Cartersville Jaycees and was a former councilman for the city of Euharlee.

Survivors include his wife Sue Wagner Cox of Euharlee; son Ronald E. Cox, Jr. and wife DeeAnn of Athens; daughter, Ginger Waggoner Busek and husband Tim; grandchildren Emily Cox, Will Cox, Walt Morris, Mack Morris, Jacob Busek and Jillian Busek; sister Elsie Newton of Boston, Georgia; brothers, Clifton Cox and wife Martha of Cartersville, Douglas Cox and wife Nancy of Snellville; Dennis Cox of Texarkana, Arkansas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, Heartland Hospice or to your favorite charity in Ron’s name.
