Rue21 To Close Cartersville Store
The company will close 400 stores across the country, including 12 in Georgia.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A clothing store catering to youngsters in malls and shopping centers across the Unites States has said it will close 400 of its stores to focus on its digital operations.
The move means the Cranberry, Pa.- based company will shutter more than half of its 700 stores around the country, including 10 locations in Georgia and metro Atlanta.
The privately held company caters sells clothing as well as beauty accessories in stores located in 48 states.

The company said the decision to close the stores a "difficult, but necessary decision," according to its Facebook post dated April 15.
"We still have hundreds of locations across the country, and our website rue21.com, open for business," it added.

A dozen stores in the Peach State have been designated for the chopping block:
- Lakeside Marketplace, 3384 North Cobb Parkway, Suite 170, Acworth
- North Point Mall, 1000 North Point Circle, Suite 1008, Alpharetta
- Bartow Marketplace, 289 Marketplace Blvd, Cartersville
- Columbus Park Crossing, 5550 Whittlesey Boulevard, Suite 580, Columbus
- Cordele Square, 1007 East 16th Avenue, Suite B, Cordele
- Dublin Mall, 2005 Veterans Boulevard, Suite A20, Dublin
- Mullins Crossing, 4217 Washington Rd, Suite 4/5, Evans
- Milledgeville Mall, 2400 North Columbia Street, Milledgeville
- The Overlook, 210 Line Creek Drive, Peachtree City
- Rincon South Shopping Center, 410 S Columbia Avenue, Suite 1, Rincon
- Savannah Mall, 14045 Abercom Street, Space 2616, Savannah
- Victory Square, 1915 E Victory Square, Suite K, Savannah
The company has yet to disclose the exact dates the closing stores will shut their doors.
