Here are the top three stories in Cartersville today:
- Services have been set for veteran law enforcement officer Patrick Dupree, who passed away last week while taking part in a cadet training exercise with the Georgia State Patrol. Dupree served with the Euharlee Police Department from 2015 to 2021. (Northwest Georgia News)
- After roughly three years of operations, Cartersville-based Phoenix Air Unmanned announced it has logged more than 13,000 miles of utility transmissions lines inspections for Xcel Energy. Will Wheeler, Phoenix's director of operations, said the flights began in 2019 and took place across Xcel's service territory, which encompasses a large region of the U.S. Midwest and Southwest. - On January 9, 2021, 35-year-old Trevus Jamaahl Baugh was driving at speeds of up to 107 miles per hour. His vehicle crossed the center line, struck another vehicle and killed Bartow County College and Career Academy teacher Shauna D'Agostino. Tuesday morning, Baugh received a forty-five-year sentence with 18 years to be served while incarcerated and the remainder on probation. (wbhfradio.org)
