Here are the top three stories today in Cartersville:
- On Tuesday, August 2, Cartersville Police officers received reports of a gunshot victim located at 621 N. Tennessee Street. Officers located a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital for his injuries. One subject was questioned by investigators. (WBHF via Facebook)
- CSX representatives announced the Main Street railroad crossing will be closed for maintenance until Thursday morning. Please plan an alternate route. (City of Cartersville via Facebook)
- The Bartow County Planning Commission will hear rezoning requests in its Aug. 8 meeting that, if approved, would result in more than 800 multifamily units throughout Bartow County. Bartow County Zoning Administrator Richard Osborne said that due to the number of proposed units, the project would require a traffic study. (Subscription: Daily Tribune)
