Residents who are fans of America's favorite past time can come out to support Bartow County's first-ever Shop With a Hero Home Run Derby.The event will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 at LakePoint Sporting Community, which is located at 755 Highway 293 in Emerson.The entry fee is $25 to participate and $2 spectator fee to watch the derby. Participants, who must be 16 years old to participate, can register by calling (770) 386-6696 or between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. the day of the derby.Bats and balls will be provided. Also available will be food and drink concessions and door prizes.All proceeds will benefit the Bartow County's 2014 Shop with a Hero initiative.(Photo credit: Patch)
