There were no injuries in the accident, which was reported early Friday on Ga. 140 west of Adairsville.

ADAIRSVILLE, GA — A Georgia state trooper attempting to conduct a traffic stop Friday morning was involved in a three-vehicle collision in northwest Bartow County.
The trooper, based out of the Rome post, was traveling on Ga. 140 near Shake Rag Road west of Adairsville around 7 a.m. Dec. 29 when he noticed a vehicle speeding.
Sgt. First Class Kyle Tanner said the trooper made a U-turn to initiate a traffic stop and as both cars were negotiating a curve in the roadway, he veered to the left while trying to slow down.

The trooper's vehicle ran onto the shoulder, came back on to the road and collided with the car he initially planned to stop. In turn, that vehicle rear-ended the car in front of it, Tanner added.
The trooper was taken by one of his colleagues to be checked out following the collision. Tanner noted the motorists in the other vehicles reported no injuries. He also said the accident remains under investigation.
