Student Charged in Grocery Store Armed Robbery: Report
A 17-year-old male from Cartersville is one of three people accused of robbing John's Grocery on Kingston Highway near Rome.

FLOYD COUNTY, GA -- A 17-year-old Cartersville man has been arrested in connection to an armed robbery of a grocery store near Rome.
Jail records show Jabrious Timion Smith has been charged with armed robbery of a business with a gun. According to Rome News-Tribune, the Cartersville resident is a student and basketball player at Model High School in Rome.
According to the report, three men wearing masks and hoodies walked into John's Grocery on Kingston Highway around 4 p.m. Tuesday, brandished firearms and demanded money.

The trio was able to flee the store with about $200 in cash, the newspaper reports. Smith was booked into the Floyd County Jail around 10 p.m. Jan. 17, according to jail records.
