Summer Meals Program Ensures Cartersville Kids Won't Go Hungry
Starting Monday, June 1, students will be able to eat free meals at various locations around the city.

Summer is coming soon, and you may be thinking about what your child will eat while school is out.

The good news is that the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners in your local community to serve free meals. There are no income requirements, and any child under age 18 may come to eat.
Cartersville City Schools, along with local churches and organizations, will be offering these meals at various locations within the city limits.

Site times will vary and will be between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 1 to July 24.
Some of the sites in the Cartersville area where lunch will be served:
- Cartersville Gardens (150 11 Old Mill Road): 11:30am
- Douglas Street United Methodist Church (219 Douglas Street): noon
- Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist (1 Mt. Olive Street) : noon
The following locations are Cartersville sites where a school bus will be parked for lunch. Children will be allowed to get on the bus to enjoy lunch while the bus is parked:
- Brookside Drive: 10 a.m.
- Puckett Street at Stonewall Street: 10:20 a.m.
- Ford Street at Johnson Street: 10:40 a.m.
- Erwin Street (AT&T): 11 am
- Fairview Street at Fairview Circle: 11:20 a.m.
- Alexander Chapel (609 M.L.K. Jr Drive): 11:40 a.m.
- Ann Circle: noon
- Collins Point Apartments: 1 p.m.
- Massell Drive: 1:30 p.m.
- Herring Street: 10:00am
- Mayflower Tennis Courts: 10:15 a.m.
- Wingfoot/Mayflower Circle: 10:30 a.m.
- Mayflower Street: 10:50 a.m.
- Vista Court: 11:05 a.m.
- Ohio Street at Pathfinder Street: 11:30 a.m.
- Defender Street at Mayflower Street: 11:45 a.m.
- Hannon Way at Fredda Lane: noon
- Courrant Street: 12:30 p.m.
- Mary Street: 12:45 p.m.
- Collins Alley: 1 p.m.
