Teen Thrown From Horse in Bartow County

Crews with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services responded to a call around 1:05 p.m. Sept. 20 of a resident who “had been thrown from a horse” at a farm off Vaughn Dairy Road in Rydal, spokesperson Brad Cothran said.
Crews arrived and found a 17-year-old female going in and out of consciousness, Cothran added.

EMS requested a helicopter to transport the victim to a level one trauma center. The patient, who Cothran said continued to experience an “altered level of consciousness,” was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
