Tellus Science Museum Welcomes 1.5 Millionth Visitor
The milestone happened on Saturday, Oct. 8 when the Suttles family visited the Cartersville institution.
CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Cartersville's Tellus Science Museum has been tracking its visitation since the facility opened seven years ago, and recently began preparing to reach a milestone with its 1.5 millionth visitor.
After forecasting how many people will walk through the museum's doors, it was estimated that the special guest would arrive around one of the biggest events of the year, Heavy Metal in Motion.
The museum was honored to greet those lucky guests, James Suttles and his family, at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8.

“We weren’t expecting this,” James Suttles added. “Now that we have a membership we’ll definitely have to come back really soon.”
Santamaria added the organization hosts several events throughout the year, and provide programming for field trips, lectures and other special initiatives.
"We want everyone who visits Tellus to find something that they can enjoy no matter their age, and I think our ability to cater to everyone is what has contributed the most to our growth so far,” he added. “We had our 2nd best year last year – only behind our opening year - and we are on track to serve even more guests this year.”
