A t-storm around in the p.m.. High: 89 Low: 72.
Here are the top five stories today in Cartersville:
- One lane of traffic on US Hwy 411 is back open on Hwy 411 near Ga Loop 1 after a tractor trailer carrying logs rolled over. Traffic had to be redirected Thursday afternoon around 4 p.m. after the wreck occurred, which caused a six-car accident. Five people were injured and transported to local hospitals. (Northwest Georgia News)
- Georgia voters choosing to vote by mail for the upcoming November election are now eligible to submit applications for absentee ballots up until October 28. To avoid potential delays, voters are encouraged to submit their requests as soon as possible. (WBHF Radio)
- Piedmont Cartersville and Recovery Bartow are joining forces to promote International Overdose Awareness Day. The organizations plan to install a purple ribbon display and hold a candlelight vigil to bring awareness to this pressing social issue. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune)
