Two Men Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

Two Bartow County residents died in a fatal accident that occurred Thursday evening.

At around 9:55 p.m. Oct. 29, a 2000 Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Mission Road near McCormick Road when the driver ”failed to maintain his lane, ran off the roadway and struck a tree,” the Georgia State Patrol said.

The driver, Thomas E. Yow, 23, of Cartersville and his passenger, Emerson resident Damien A. Lugo, 24, were both pronounced dead at the scene, GSP said.

The investigation into the accident remains active.
