Two Men Shot During Separate Incidents in Bartow County

Both patients were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Two men in Bartow County suffered gunshot wounds to their legs in two unrelated incidents Wednesday evening.

Bartow County EMS crews responded to the first shooting on Heritage Drive, which is located off East Valley Road in the Pine Log community.

Crews arrived on the scene to find an 18-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the leg, said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

While the wound was treated at the scene, the patient was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital for follow-up care.

The second "accidental" shooting was reported around 9:05 p.m. Jan. 4, Cothran stated. Crews were dispatched to a location on Benefield Circle, which is located off Grassdale Road.

Another man was found with one gunshot wound to his leg. Bartow EMS crews assessed the man, and transported him to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment.
