Here are the top three stories in Cartersville today:

1. Varsity on the way to Lakepoint: The Varsity is coming to LakePoint, joining the location soon to be underway in front of Tractor Supply. No expected opening date available yet, but it is planned to be at the former location of Tokyo Steak & Sushi at 185 Lakepoint Parkway. (Northwest Georgia News)
2. Veterans Day programs: The Veterans Day Program at Carl Boyd Post 42 is planned at 11:11 a.m. in the Fair Building. Congressman Barry Loudermilk will be the guest speaker. The Magnolia Garden Club's Veterans Day also has a program planned at 2 p.m. near the Blue Star Memorial Marker at the Frank Moore Administration Building.
