Vehicle Leaves Interstate, Overturns, Lands Near Naval Recreational Site

Two people refused treatment at an area hospital following a single-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Bartow County.

The vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 75 north of the Allatoona Lake bridge when it left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, rolled over and came to a rest on Sandtown Road near the Naval Recreational Site, said Bartow County Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Brad Cothran.

Cothtran stated the first EMS crew that arrived on the scene reported that two patients were out of the wrecked vehicle and were sitting in another vehicle.

“The patients had gotten out of the wreck vehicle and was sitting in a bystander’s vehicle,” Cothran added.

The male patient said he had “no injuries or pain,” Cothran said. The woman also reported she had no pain, but say she had some stiffness in her neck, he added.

Both patients were checked out by EMS crews, but declined transportation to an area hospital, Cothran said.
