The area has been reserved for archery-only deer hunts by those with valid Corps of Engineers permits.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Allatoona Lake Project Management Office will close the Vineyard Mountain Trail in December due to scheduled hunting activities that will take place in the area.
The trail will close Dec. 1-31, the department said. The trailheads for the path are located at the Riverside Day Use Area at 1138 Georgia Highway Spur 20 in Cartersville and Bethany Bridge. The area has been reserved for archery-only deer hunts for those with valid Corps of Engineers permits, said Lead Ranger Christopher Purvis.
Residents should not enter the area for any reasons other than hunting with a valid Corps of Engineers hunting permit.
