- Former University of Georgia football running back Herschel Walker is campaigning for his chance at a U.S. Senate seat in Georgia. He will appear at LakePoint Sports in Emerson today at 11:45. (Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce)
- Florida's Polk County Sheriff's Office representatives have released details regarding the arrest of Cartersville Police Department Deputy Chief, Jason DiPrima. According to the statement, DiPrima was arrested for solicitation of "prostitution, lewdness or assignation" while in Orlando attending an American Polygraph Association seminar and workshop. - The total number of Georgia absentee ballots that were placed in drop boxes and counted for the 2020 general election have been published. GPB News, along with WABE, NPR and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution spent hundreds of hours analyzing more than 9,200 transfer forms that election workers used to track and count ballots retrieved from each drop box location in Georgia. Absentee ballots left in drop boxes at Bartow County locations totaled 4,810. (gpb.org)
- John Nutters, who leads Genesis Ministries, said it responds to disaster areas to cook for victims of severe weather events like Labor Day weekend's flooding in Northwest Georgia. Genesis Ministries served chicken plates to at least 500 people on Monday. Monday night members smoked BBQ to feed hundreds more on Tuesday. (CBS 46 News)
