Wallet Theft Suspect Sought By Bartow County Sheriff's Office

A man left his wallet in a restroom, but said it was gone when he came back. He got a notification someone tried to use his debit card.

TAYLORSVILLE, GA—The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in a wallet theft.

A man told sheriff's deputies he left his wallet in the restroom of T&M Gas Station in Taylorsville on August 20. The man didn't realize he had left the wallet for about an hour. When he came back, it was gone.

The sheriff's office said the man got a notification that someone had tried to use his debit card at the Walmart in Rockmart, but the transaction was declined.

Surveillance footage identified an unknown white man trying to use the debit card. The man left the Walmart in a white work van. He was wearing blue shirts, a brown t-shirt, and white tennis shoes.
