What's Open, Closed For Christmas in Cartersville?

Here's what you need to know as the holidays arrive in Bartow County.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- If you're expecting to get anything business done with your local governments before Christmas rolls around, then you're out of luck.

That's because the city of Cartersville will be closed on Friday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 26 for the Christmas holidays. As a result, anyone whose garbage and recycling collection occurs on those days will have those items picked up on Tuesday.

Residents who have Tuesday collection will not see a change in their services.

Bartow County operations will also close Dec. 23 and Dec. 26 for Christmas.

Of course, the Cartersville City and Bartow County school systems remain on their winter breaks and will do so through the first week of January. The Bartow County Library System will shutter its doors Dec. 23-26, and will reopen Dec. 27 for normal hours.

Georgia Highlands College's Cartersville and the Chattahoochee Technical College North Metro campuses will remain closed through the first week of January.

The United States Postal Service as well as the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce will observe Christmas on Monday, Dec. 26 and return to normal operations on Dec. 27.
