What's Open, Closed For New Year's In Cartersville?

Here's what you need to know as 2017 arrives in Bartow County.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Just like the Christmas holidays, government business will come to a halt early next week in observance of New Year's Day.

Specifically, the city of Cartersville and Bartow County offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, for the holiday, as will the cities of Adairsville, Emerson, Euharlee, Kingston and White.

As a result, Cartersville residents whose garbage and recycling collection occurs on those days will have those items picked up on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017.

Those entities will resume their day-to-day service on Jan. 3.

Of course, the Cartersville City and Bartow County school systems remain on their winter breaks and classes will resume for both districts on Jan. 3, respectively.

The Bartow County Library System will also be closed Jan. 2, 2017, and will reopen Jan. 3 for normal hours.

Georgia Highlands College's Cartersville and the Chattahoochee Technical College North Metro campuses will remain closed through Jan. 2.

The United States Postal Service as well as the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce will observe the New Year's holiday on Jan. 2, and return to normal operations Jan. 3.
