What's Open, Closed For Christmas, New Year's Day in Cartersville
Here's what you can expect as we prepare to close out 2015.

Residents who may need to take care of some last-minute issues with the city of Cartersville and Bartow County will have a short window of opportunity to do so this week.

That’s because the city of Cartersville will close operations for Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 and Christmas Day, Dec. 25. Things will return to a normal schedule on Monday, Dec 28.
However, the city will once again close Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 for New Year’s Day. You can expect things to return to normal on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016.

The city’s sanitation collection will be delayed until Monday, Dec. 28 for Christmas and to Jan. 4, 2016, for the New Year’s holiday. Additionally, no brush or yard waste pick-up will take place Dec. 28 through Jan. 1, but leaf pickup will continue as planned.
Operations in Bartow County will also come to a halt on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. County operations will resume Monday, Dec. 28, but will close again Jan. 1, 2016, for New Year’s Day.
The Cartersville City School System, including all schools and administrative offices, will be closed for the winter break between Dec. 21 and Jan. 1. Administrative offices and schools will re-open Monday, Jan. 4 for a teacher workday. Classes for students will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
Bartow County Schools are also closed Dec. 21-Jan. 4, 2016, for winter break. The school system’s classes will return to session on Jan. 5.
The Bartow County Public Library System will close its branches Dec. 23-26, and will reopen on Monday, Dec. 28. It will also close its facilities at 6 p.m. New Year’s Eve, and will be closed for New Year’s Day.
