Here are the top three stories today in Cartersville:
- White resigns from Cartersville BOE: Kathi White turned in her resignation during the Cartersville School Board meeting Nov. 14. Since 2019, White had served as the board member for Ward 2. Emma Paige will represent Ward 2 until White's seat ends December 2025. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
- Bond denied for woman accused of murder: A forty-year-old Cartersville woman was arrested and charged with two counts of murder, trafficking illegal drugs and second-degree child cruelty/causing excessive pain. According to the warrant, the woman's thirteen-year-old son overdosed on fentanyl on March 16. The drug, laced with an animal tranquilizer, was reportedly found in her home. Judge Rosemary Green denied granting the defendant's bond. (wbhfradio.org)
- Holiday Happiness: The Bartow County Exceptional Education Department hosted breakfast with Santa for the special needs pre-K students. Warm pancakes, crafts, ornaments, music and pictures with jolly ol' Saint Nick were served up with the help of BCSS educators, community members, Tabernacle Baptist Church, and the Bridge Ministry.
