Woman Killed In Cartersville Shooting
BREAKING: The Bartow County Sheriff's Office said a man, who was in a relationship with the woman, shot her before shooting himself.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A woman was shot and killed by her live-in boyfriend early Saturday afternoon in Bartow County, the Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies with the Bartow County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a call of a woman shot around 1 p.m. July 7 in area of Young Street in unincorporated Cartersville. Prior to arrival, more reports of shots being fired were received by 9-1-1 dispatchers, the agency said.
Deputies arrived at the scene and found a man and woman with gunshot wounds. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment.

The sheriff's office notes the initial investigation indicates the two lived together and were in a relationship.

"Investigators believe that the man shot himself after shooting the woman," sheriff's office spokesperson Sgt. Jonathan Rogers added.
