Woman Shot In Leg During Armed Robbery in Cartersville
Witnesses say the suspects made off with two necklaces and at some point during the robbery, shot the victim in the leg.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery and shooting over the weekend in Cartersville.
Officers were dispatched around 11:08 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 to a residence on Carriage Hills Drive, which sits off Center Road between U.S. 41 and Interstate 75.
They arrived on the scene to find a woman bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound to her lower right leg, according to an incident report released by the sheriff's office.

The shooting victim told police she and another person were "chillin'" at the location when four or five men inside a van or SUV pulled up to the home, brandished a black handgun and took two necklaces from her friend, the deputy recounted in the incident report.
During the robbery, one of the men managed to shoot the victim in the leg, the report adds.

Police were unable to get any additional details from the victim as well as the witness on the scene. The shooting victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
