Woodland High Marching Band Wins First Triple Grand Championship
The drum majors won 1st place overall at 3 competitions and the percussion and color guard won 1st place overall at two competitions.

The Woodland High School Marching Band recently won its first triple Grand Championship.
The school’s band won first place at all of their competitions this fall at Milton, Fannin County and Hiram high schools. Bands were evaluated on their marching and performance.
The drum majors won first place overall at all three competitions and the percussion and color guard won first place overall at two of the three competitions. Those scores plus the score on their performance earned them the highest scores and the Grand Championship titles. They competed using one of their football halftime shows, “Land Stand of the 300,” which chronicles the Spartan Battle at Thermopylae.

Willoughby noted the students’ success was only possible due to their hard work that started in July.

“They knew they had accomplished something incredible when we played our last note at the competition,” he added. “I think the trophies and awards will fade, but the memories that come with the hard work will last a lifetime.”
