Workplace Accident Kills Man, 40

Officers with the Cartersville Police Department are investigating a Tuesday morning workplace accident that resulted in the death of an employee.

At around 7 a.m., a 40-year-old man was cleaning a plastics mixing machine at Syncot Plastics at 707 South Erwin Street when he climbed onto a roller bar and was dragged through the machine, said police spokesperson Major Mark Camp.

Camp said the man was “deceased upon arrival of the officers.”
