Workshop Helps Cartersville Job Seekers 'Step Up Their Game'

May 4 to 8 is Goodwill Week 2015, and Goodwill of North Georgia has planned a full week of community job fairs and recognition events for the people who support and benefit from its mission.

From Monday to Friday, rotating Goodwill of North Georgia’s career centers will host job fairs to help local job seekers network with hiring employers and interview for open positions.

Employers will be on-site at each location recruiting workers for professional, retail and warehouse positions.

“Goodwill Week gives us the opportunity to shine a light on our 10 local career centers, and to let people know how we can support them on their next job search,” says Elaine Armstrong, director of public relations. “This year we will put more than 16,500 north Georgians to work thanks to the donors, shoppers and employers who support our mission.”

Attendees can prepare for the job fairs by visiting a career center leading up to Goodwill Week, or by attending the Step Up Your Game Workshop at Goodwill’s Cartersville career center on Friday, May 1. Goodwill is teaming up with Marietta-based MUST Ministries for the initiative, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Registration for the event is required and can be done online. The Cartersville center is at 929 Joe Frank Harris Parkway.

Individuals planning to attend one or multiple job fairs should plan to wear professional interview attire and bring several copies of their résumés.
