Today's riddle: What do you get when you cross an angry cow with an angry sheep? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Chemicals next to sauce, grime on ice chute: Chattanooga area health inspection reports for week ending Sept. 8 (timesfreepress.com) — Several Chickamauga spots, including Jack's Family Restaurant, local elementary schools, and Oakwood Baptist Church, all earned top health scores of 90 or higher in the latest inspections. The report also details lower scores and violations at other Chattanooga-area eateries. Residents can see how their favorite nearby restaurants and schools stacked up in the week's grading.
• Memorial monument erected for African Americans buried in unmarked graves at District Hill Cemetery (local3news.com) — A new memorial monument now honors 170 African Americans buried in previously unmarked graves at District Hill Cemetery off Cove Road in Chickamauga. Funded by a $75,000 grant, the marker lists their names and recognizes teachers, laborers, and preachers who helped build the city. A public dedication ceremony is planned for October 24 at 11 a.m.
