• Mergers and Acquisitions: An Overview of Notable Healthcare M&A Activity in 2026 (healthtechmagazine.net) — Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Clayton is set to join Wellstar Health System, a major metro Atlanta nonprofit network, in a deal expected to close August 1. For Clayton and Rabun County residents, that means potential access to more specialists, technology, and services while keeping care close to home in northeast Georgia.
• New Georgia Law Expands Guns in Public Places (rightspeak.net) — A sweeping new Georgia law now lets licensed gun owners carry firearms into many public places, including bars, churches, some government buildings, and potentially schools.
