• Judge dismisses College Park councilwoman's TPO petition against resident (saportareport.com) — A Fulton County judge has thrown out a College Park councilwoman's request for a stalking protective order against resident Allyson Blue, ruling Blue's criticism and messages didn't amount to threats or harassment. The case grew from sharp disputes over city transparency and council decisions, including a Savannah retreat, and has energized local residents active on College Park-focused Facebook groups and at council meetings.
• Federal jury orders hotel owner to pay $164M in child sex trafficking suit (fox5atlanta.com) — A federal jury has ordered the former owner of a Super 8 on Old National Highway in College Park to pay $164 million to a woman trafficked there as a 15-year-old. The massive verdict, one of several pending cases at that hotel, underscores ongoing trafficking concerns around Hartsfield-Jackson and efforts to train locals to spot and report warning signs.
• Howard, Reese help Dream rally from 11-point deficit, beat Mystics 92-77 in Game 1 of playoff series (wtop.com) — Fans near College Park saw a big playoff win as the Atlanta Dream rallied from 11 points down to beat the Washington Mystics 92–77 in Game 1 at Gateway Center. Rhyne Howard's 26 points and Angel Reese's double-double powered a record-setting defensive night, giving the Dream a strong start before the series shifts to Washington.
