• Commissioners approve data center ordinance (theoglethorpeecho.com) — Oglethorpe County commissioners have adopted strict new rules for data centers and approved deannexing the Old Mill property from Crawford so a buyer can work solely with the county. They also backed a landfill expansion, several rezoning requests, and a new tractor purchase, while a Crawford resident urged ending school zone speed cameras and officials discussed hosting a countywide Digital Atlas online.
   

• Business brings new life to final resting places (theoglethorpeecho.com) — A Crawford-based small business is quietly restoring aging tombstones across Oglethorpe County, including historic family cemeteries just outside the Crawford city limits. Owner and sheriff's deputy Julio Soto carefully cleans stones to preserve names and local history, often donating his work for veterans or when he's already on-site, while local historians document nearly 460 cemeteries in a growing digital atlas.
