Three people overdosed, and one of them died, in a 15-hour period this weekend that has Forsyth County authorities worried a bad batch of drugs may be in town. The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office announced the string of overdoses Sunday evening. The two people who survived their overdose were hospitalized in serious condition.

Computer Experts Petition Georgia For More Transparency In Voting Systems
In the wake of the late-night debacle that paralyzed the processing of ballots in Fulton County during the April 18 special election, 20 computer experts from across the nation have written to Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp to implore him to update the state's voting apparatus. The petition comes amid a Fulton County investigation into a technical snafu that delayed election results in the 6th District race between 18 candidates, including Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel, who will face each other in a June runoff.

7-Time Felon Convicted Of DUI & Police Chase Through Marietta
A seven-time felon was sentenced to eight years in prison for leading police on a 16-mile chase and driving under the influence, Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds recently announced. The incident happened on New Year’s Eve 2015, when Cobb officers spotted Rossville resident Ronald Wayne Kidd, now 55, driving a white Kia Sedona that had been reported stolen in a carjacking in Tennessee.
