6 Ways To Recycle Christmas Trees In Cumming

There are several options to get rid of your once-live tree in ways that are good for the Cumming community, and environment.

CUMMING, GA — Keep Forsyth County Beautiful invites residents to recycle their Christmas trees during the annual Bring One for the Chipper event Through Jan. 29, 2022.

“Forsyth County has recycled well over 100,000 Christmas trees since the County began participating in the ‘Bring One for the Chipper’ program in 1994,” said Environmental Program Manager Tammy Wright. “All of the Christmas trees brought to us for recycling have either been placed in the lake as fish habitat or chipped into reusable mulch. We look forward to keeping trees out of landfills every year.”

Christmas trees can be dropped off at the following Forsyth County locations during the listed dates:

  • Home Depot - 1000 Market Place Blvd.
    • Jan. 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Home Depot - 2635 Peachtree Pkwy.
    • Jan. 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Vickery Creek Elementary School - 6280 Post Road
    • Through Jan. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Tolbert Street Recycling Convenience Center - 351 Tolbert St.
    • Through Jan. 29 (closed on Sundays), from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Old Atlanta Recycling Convenience Center - 3678 Old Atlanta Road
    • Through Jan. 29 (closed on Sundays), from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Coal Mountain Recycling Convenience Center - 3560 Settingdown Road
    • Through Jan. 29 (closed on Sundays), from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All three county recycling convenience centers will close at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31 and will also be closed Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022 for New Year’s Day.
