Air Quality Alert for Cumming Monday

With temperatures climbing to dangerous levels Monday, the National Weather Service has issued an Air Quality Alert for Cumming.

The code orange alert means outdoor air will likely be unhealthy for sensitive groups.

“Children, people sensitive to the ozone and people with heart or lung disease should limit prolonged outdoor exertion during the late afternoon or early evening when ozone concentrations are highest,” according to the NWS.

The heat index, or “feels like temperature,” for Monday is expected to reach 101 degrees. There’s a similar forecast for Tuesday.
