• Aug. 14 Forsyth fashion show saddles up to fight cancer (appenmedia.com) — Cancer survivors and supporters in Cumming just helped kick off fundraising for the 2027 North Georgia Cattle Baron's Ball with a Cowboy Couture fashion show at Lanier Tech's Forsyth Conference Center. The ball itself is set for Feb. 27, 2027 at Reid Barn on Majors Road in Cumming, aiming to unite North Fulton and South Forsyth in raising money for the American Cancer Society.

Authorities say more than 2,000 investors were misled with promises of guaranteed double-digit returns through bogus real estate and CORE Fund offerings.
