β€’ Investors Were Promised 10% Returns Every 3 Months. More Than 2,000 Lost $380 Million (wealthofgeeks.com) β€” A massive Georgia Ponzi scheme has led to prison sentences for three Drive Planning executives, including chief administrative officer Julie Edwards of Cumming, who received two years plus restitution. Prosecutors say more than 2,000 investors lost about $380 million in supposedly real estate-backed offerings. The case comes with clear warnings about "guaranteed" high-return investments and using retirement or college funds for risky schemes.

β€’ Georgia Teacher's Final Wish: School Supplies Instead of Flowers at Funeral (hypefresh.com subscription) β€” Cumming and Forsyth County are still inspired by longtime teacher Tammy Waddell, who asked mourners to bring backpacks of school supplies instead of flowers to her 2018 funeral at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming. The gesture filled the chapel with donations that went to local students through Project Connect and even sparked additional support from overseas. Her legacy continues in the classrooms and schools where she taught, including Cumming Elementary and Haw Creek Elementary.

  • I was doing some work around the house today, cleaning things up, when I came across this little block of wood screwed to the bottom of the door to my office.
I put it there about 10 years ago. It's not a door stopper. It's a door opener. Before he died last December, my dog Dash used to come check on me… (Nextdoor Timber Lake Trail)
  • Today at night next to our door (Costco, exit 15) we found a dog.
The dog has a collar but no name or address. If this is your dog, or you know the person whose dog it is, please contact us. (Nextdoor Turner Rd)
