1. Does this end Forsyth Co. chances for landing an NHL team? (wgtjradio.com) — Forsyth County leaders are backing a massive mixed-use project in Cumming, including an 18,000-seat arena they hope can lure an NHL team, with $225 million in contingent county bond financing. But Alpharetta just advanced a rival 20,000-seat arena at North Point Mall, raising questions about whether the region can support two NHL bids and how that competition could affect Cumming's ambitions.
2. AirPods and a Tesla's Cameras Cracked This Georgia Car Theft (theautowire.com) — A quick stop at a Primrose School in the Cumming area turned into a car theft when a driver left her vehicle running for about 30 seconds, but AirPods left inside and a nearby Tesla's cameras helped deputies quickly find the car and suspect. 3. Students named to NGTC President's List and Honor Roll for Summer Semester 2026 (wnegradio.com) — Cumming is represented on North Georgia Technical College's Summer 2026 Honor Roll by Bailey Piper, an Electrical Lineworker with Pintle Hook Restriction Certificate student from Forsyth County. The college recognized high-achieving students from across North Georgia for earning GPAs of 3.5 and higher while carrying full-time course loads.
4. Cumming man charged with burglarizing S. Hall warehouse (wgtjradio.com) — A 35-year-old Cumming resident has been charged in connection with a March theft at a Buford floral warehouse, where a box of roses valued at $250 was reported missing. Investigators say surveillance video and interviews led them to the former employee, who is now held without bond in Hall County Jail.
