Forsyth Chief Deputy Named FBI Academy Leader

Grady Sanford was elected to the executive board of the FBI National Academy last week.

CUMMING, GA — Forsyth County's chief deputy has been elected to a leadership position with an FBI academy that provides training to law-enforcement officers from across the country.

Chief Deputy Grady Sanford was elected August 2 to the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy Associates' executive board. Sanford graduated from the academy in 2010 and has served on the executive board of its Georgia chapter for the past five and a half years, recently serving as the chapter's president.

In his new position, he will represent 13 chapters in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, the Caribbean and Latin America, Maryland and Delaware, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

After several years, he is expected to progress through the organization's leadership chairs and serve as national president in 2024.

The FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. (FBINAA) is a nonprofit, international organization of nearly 17,000 senior law enforcement professionals dedicated to providing the highest degree of law enforcement expertise, training, education and information.

Members are graduates of the FBI’s prestigious National Academy Program, representing all 50 states, 170 countries and over 7,500 law enforcement agencies. Over 50,000 graduates have completed the FBINA Program.
