Forsyth Man Shot in Chest in Kroger Parking Lot

CUMMING, GA — A 56-year-old Forsyth County man was shot in the chest in a Kroger parking lot over the weekend, authorities say.

The victim had arranged to meet someone at the store, on Peachtree Parkway in south Forsyth, to complete an online sale, said Forsyth County Sheriff's Office spokesman Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez.

The shooter, described only as a white male, had gotten out of a car to meet the victim, Rodriguez said. He said the shooting appeared to be a robbery attempt.

Rodriguez said the victim was conscious and communicating with deputies when he was taken to the hospital.
