Forsyth Sheriff Shows Off 'Special' Dogs
The mom and puppy, taken as part of an animal cruelty case, will be available for adoption soon.

CUMMING, GA — Forsyth County deputies are showcasing a special pair of dogs they hope will find a happy home soon.
In a video posted to Facebook on Wednesday, DFC Chris Barger and Dep. Erin Long introduced the female dog and her male puppy, which are currently at the Forsyth County Animal Shelter.
In May, the mom and pup were reported to Forsyth authorities as a case of animal cruelty. They were found in what deputies called deplorable conditions and were severely malnourished.

The owner was arrested and has been convicted of two counts of animal cruelty. Meanwhile, the dogs have been treated by veterinarians and are returning to a more normal weight.
The mother dog is about two years old and is believed to be a boxer-Catahoula mix. The puppy is about eight months old, deputies say.

"He's full of puppy energy still and he's an adorable addition to any family," Long said in the video.
The Forsyth County Animal Shelter is located off of Ga. 400 at 4065 County Way in northern Forsyth County. The deputies say the mom and pup will be available for adoption there soon.
"Let's give them a very happy ending to their story," Barger said.
