Input Sought On Growth, Land Use For Forsyth Comprehensive Plan
The Forsyth County community has through Friday to give input on the comprehensive plan regarding growth and land use.
CUMMING, GA — As a part of Foster Forsyth 2022, the process of updating the Forsyth County Comprehensive Plan, an online input opportunity is now available for the community. A survey, mapping activity and questionnaire, along with materials presented during recent public meetings, may be found online. The online input period will be available through 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7.
The Forsyth County Comprehensive Plan is a document that serves as a policy guide for decisions made in relation to growth and land use change. The plan addresses critical issues and opportunities through the incorporation of a shared vision for the community's future. Foster Forsyth 2022 is a 12-month planning effort that will culminate in a partial update to the County’s Comprehensive Plan, which will include three rounds of community input via in-person and online activities.
“In order to provide an update to the plan that will help guide important decisions on future development to ensure compatibility with existing uses, infrastructure and economic trends while protecting natural and cultural resources, we need the community’s input,” said Planning & Community Development Deputy Director Vanessa Bernstein-Goldman. “Over the course of 2022, we hope that the public will participate since the plan provides a framework for County decisions that impact land use decisions and community priorities for the County over a twenty-year planning horizon.”
