PHOTOS: See the Forsyth County Sheriff's 'Relay For Life' Car

The specialized car led three laps during the 12-hour fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

CUMMING, GA -- At Saturday's Relay For Life event at Cumming Fairgrounds, Sheriff Duane K. Piper unveiled a county patrol car designed just for the event.

According to the sheriff, it was a huge hit.

Painted purple -- the official color of the American Cancer Society fundraiser -- the car was used to lead three laps of the 12-hour relay.

It led the "survivor" lap, the "caregiver" lap and the "hometown hero" lap.

The sheriff's office thanked iMPACT Graphic Printing and Design, which donated time and services on the car.

Local businesses who also donated toward the cause incluced Serenity Orthodontics, Village Pediatric Dentistry and Foam South.
