Pilates And Puppies At Halcyon This Saturday
Halcyon is introducing its "Fitness on the Green" wellness series this Saturday morning with a special event called "Pilates and Puppies."

CUMMING, GA — Halcyon, the new mixed-use village now open in Forsyth County, is stretching “fun” into “fundraising” with its inaugural “Pilates and Puppies” class held on the community’s central greenspace this Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
The 45-minute mat Pilates class will be led by a team member from Joey, a new fitness experience which is opening a studio at Halcyon, 6365 Halcyon Way, Alpharetta, in late 2019. Following the sweat session, attendees can enjoy a 30-minute puppy playdate with adoptable dogs from Furkids Animal Rescue Shelters, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Forsyth County that operates the state’s largest cage-free, no-kill shelter for cats and dogs.
Considered a total-body workout, Pilates classes by Joey are open to all fitness levels and will offer a contemporary approach to the classical method. Joey is named after Joseph Pilates, the founder of the system of exercises developed to improve strength, posture and flexibility. Beyond Pilates classes, Joey will also offer dance cardio classes and sell a collection of athleisure wear, accessories and home goods at its debut Halcyon location.

With a direct connection to the Big Creek Greenway, Halcyon is designed as a community gathering place for activity and fun experiences, from coworkers playing a game of cornhole, meeting old friends or making new ones at group runs/walks hosted by Totally Running and Walking, or relaxing with family members — including the four-legged ones.
