Sanders Road Near Cumming Re-Opens
It's been three years since the road caved in due to water and sediment moving beneath it.

CUMMING, GA -- Three years later, Sanders Road is open to traffic again.
As the Forsyth County News reports, CummingΒ city officials held a ceremony Thursday to officially re-open the road. It was three years and one week after heavy rain caused a nearby dam to collapse and the road to cave in.
At the ceremony, Mayor H. Ford Gravitt apolotized to those who were affected by the road closing.

Work began in November and was supposed to be finished by the end of December, but was delayed by heavy rain.
Not everyone was satisfied, though. The News reported that a protester attended the ceremony, holding a sign critical of how long the repairs took and repeatedly asking about the length of the project.
