Sawnee Mountain Preserve To Host Spring Festival April 20
The event is designed to promote preservation, conservation, stewardship and outdoor recreation.

CUMMING, GA -- Forsyth County Parks & Recreation will host a Spring Festival to celebrate Earth Day at Sawnee Mountain Preserve, 4075 Spot Rd., on Saturday, April 20. The event will feature something for all ages, including guided hikes, rock climbing, tree climbing, zip lining, yoga, crafts, games and more. These free activities will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is designed to promote preservation, conservation, stewardship and outdoor recreation.
“Sawnee Mountain Preserve offers a wide variety of activities and we are excited for everyone to experience them at the festival,” Parks & Recreation Director Jim Pryor said in a release. “Whether it’s doing more adventurous activities like zip lining and tree climbing or learning about the county’s watersheds or weather and climate, there is something for everyone to enjoy.”

A trail run will kick off the event at 8 a.m. at the preserve’s visitor center. Pre-registration is required and is open through April 17.
